Responsible Housing
Responsible Housing
Housing in our district isn’t one-size-fits-all — and it shouldn’t be treated that way.
From single-family homes in Howard Beach and Ozone Park, to co-ops in Lindenwood, to buildings along Shore Front Parkway, every community is different. And the people who live here want a real say in what happens in their neighborhoods.
Pesach Osina believes that voice should come first.
Protecting Community Input
Too many decisions about development are made without fully listening to the people who live here.
Pesach will:
Stand with residents who want a real say in local development decisions
Oppose one-size-fits-all policies that override community input
Support efforts to protect neighborhood character and prevent overdevelopment
Development should work for communities — not be forced on them.
Standing Up to Overdevelopment
Our neighborhoods should not be reshaped without consideration for infrastructure, traffic, and quality of life.
Pesach will:
Push back against policies that encourage overdevelopment without local support
Ensure that any new development is responsible, balanced, and community-driven
Fight to make sure state resources are not used to support projects that ignore local concerns
Growth should be thoughtful — not rushed.
Protecting Homeowners
For many families, their home is their biggest investment.
Pesach will:
Strengthen protections against deed theft and title fraud
Support programs that help homeowners navigate complex systems like co-ops and Mitchell-Lama housing
Advocate for policies that protect long-term residents from being pushed out
Homeownership should come with security — not uncertainty.
Lowering the Cost of Staying Here
Keeping people in their homes is just as important as building new ones.
Pesach will:
Fight for property tax relief, especially for middle-class families and seniors
Support policies that make it more affordable to stay in the communities people have built their lives in
